Joel McColl has been making music in Austin, TX over 40 years. He cut his musical teeth in the coffee houses and folk venues of Oklahoma before hitting the road in the early 70’s. He’s played with Bonnie Raitt, Hoyt Axton, David Bromberg, Kenny Rankin, Iain Matthews, Rusty Wier and others. He had an American Song Festival semifinalist song with “You Depress Me.” He’s also known for his 20 year run as the producer of “O Henry World Championship Pun-Off Content.”

His upcoming single “HUMANKIND” is coming out in October, 2024 and will be available on all the streaming platforms! You can discover his music on his website.

Bastrop Songwriter Showcase is hosted by our Executive Director Robert A. Kraft, who brings in local singer-songwriters to swap songs and talk about their music for live music lovers. Come out and enjoy!
